Okay, maybe just a little bit.
This day has been extremely long.
Firstly(that's a word, right?), I needed to bring Sage home.
Bright idea #1; why don't I ride Poco down there and pony Sage home?
Armed with my camera and my spry youthfulness, I mounted Poco and we cantered(Yes CANTERED!((I have a very difficult time getting Poco to ever canter!)) down there.
I caught Sage up and mounted again. It started out great....
Poco was happy...
Sage was content having Poco's behind in her face.
Poco put up a fuss, I realized that it had been at least six months since either of them had been pony-ed.
So, I resolved to leading them home.
We had a long way to go.
Needless to say, we got home and I put them away with hay and water.
All was well until I was heading toward the house, I saw an aged log that, once I did a little measuring, I figured would be just great for a new corner post on the fence!!
Well well, I got bright idea #2 in my brain and figured, "Hey, this'll take me maybe two hours, then I can kick back in my room, etc etc."
WRONG.
Absolutely wrong.
Here is said blasted log.
After a half hour of sawing away, I was beginning to question my sanity.
So this is the glorious fence I was to fix. It's supposed to be STRAIGHT.
This is in fact, NOT supposed to be like this.
After two hours(yes, two) of digging ONE hole, I put the post in.
What's THIS?
No no no no no, it needs to be like a foot and a half shorter...
After wrestling this baby out of the ground YET again, I sawed...
An additional amount of time later(I lost track and I didn't end up taking more pictures, it got dark), I began to put the post into the ground and set the fence back up.
Just when I thought I was in the clear; the entire fence fell over. No joke, ker-plunk! Right on my head.
After dusting off my pride and wincing at my head, I ended up setting up the fence in a straight line and attaching it properly, but tomorrow I will need to get another post and dig yet another hole(yippee!), just to make sure that the fence is good and sturdy!!
So now I am going to run a ridiculously hot bath and relax. My shoulders and back hurt.
But hey, I promised I wouldn't complain.
